Google Analytics and Statistics


The Alliance Digital Repository’s OPT-OUT page gives you a chance to browse an ADR collection without being counted by Google Analytics tracking engine. The primary purpose of the feature is administrative maintenance and developer's debugging.

Opt-out ends when a browser session ends/browser is closed

  • A URL/page can be dragged to the browser’s browse bar or added to favorites as a short cut
  • The web page/URL where technicians go to “opt-out” is accessible via the ADR wiki (either on a wiki page or pointing to a page on bes)
  • The web page/URL where technicians go includes links to all opt out-able production sites
  • The web page/URL renders a “Thank you, you are now opted out of …..” message


  • Opt-out is URL/portal-specific (i.e. opting of Colorado School of Mines Digital Repository does not opt same browser session/user out of Digital UNC):

The web page/URL includes notes/instructions about what clicking does, when the opt out expires, and a reminder that re-opening a browser will require a new opt out action
