We have encountered significant interest from multiple members to support VRA 4.0 within the ADR – either through our metadata editing templates or through our batch ingest services. The challenge is that we can’t seem to locate a viable VRA to MODS crosswalk – only the Getty seems to have one available, but when we tried to implement it we discovered that it appears to be incomplete and somewhat vague.
We are taking a stab at defining our own crosswalk – working through the somewhat more available VRA to MARC mappings and under the guidance of the ADR Metadata Working group . It won’t be pretty, but it may do for our current needs…and we have already had expressions of interest from other institutions and VRA users.
